This procedure will remove / recover the password on a Cisco CSS-11051-AC Content Services Switch.
Model: Cisco CSS-11051-AC
Console Cable: Arrowpoint/Cisco Console Cable (Not Cisco Blue)
Step 1: Power On the Unit
Step 2: Press ESC Key when you see “Running POST Diagnostics”
Step 3: At the APdebugMon> Prompt Type: m ext
Step 4: At the APdebugMon> Prompt Type: run 30
Step 5: At the APdebugMon> Prompt Type: Reboot
Step 6: Press Any Key After Disk Check (When Prompted) To Get Into Admin Menu
Step 7: If the Menu does not display correctly - disconnect session and reconnect to refresh.
Step 8: Select (3) Advanced Options
Step 9: Select (2) Security Options
Step 10: Select (2) Set Administrative Username and Password
Step 11: Set Username to Cisco Default: admin
Step 12: Set Password to Cisco Default: system
