This procedure will upgrade the IOS on a Cisco 2620 Router.
Model: CISCO2620
Console Cable Required: Cisco Blue Console Cable
Step 1: from the Router> Prompt type: en
Step 2: from the Router# Prompt type: config terminal
Step 3: from the Router(config)# Prompt type: interface f0/0 (to use port 0)
Step 4: plug your ethernet cable into Port 0
Step 5: from the Router(config-if)# Prompt type: ip address 192.168.1.20 255.255.255.0
Step 6: from the Router(config-if)# Prompt type: no shutdown
Step 7: from the Router(config-if)# Prompt type: exit
Step 8: from the Router(config)# Prompt type: exit
Step 9: from the Router# Prompt type: copy tftp flash
Step 10: Address or name of remote host []? 192.168.1.30 (your tftp server address)
Step 11: Source filename []? c2600-i-mz.123-6.bin (filename of image you want to load)
Step 12: Destination filename [c2600-i-mz.123-6.bin]?
Step 13: Erase flash: before copying? [confirm] yes
Step 14: Erasing the flash filesystem will remove all files! Continue? [confirm] yes
Step 15: Wait until the flash is upgraded
Step 16: Unplug Ethernet Cable
Step 17: From the Router# Prompt type: reload (Do Not Save configuration when asked)
Step 18: Verify that router reboots and has latest IOS installed.
